About Ripon Amateur Operatic Society
Ripon Amateur Operatic Society (“RAOS”) was founded in 1940. Since then the Society has gone from strength to strength producing and performing two shows a year at Harrogate Theatre and venues in Ripon. The group consists of a large number of members who enjoy taking part in amateur musical theatre, whether they perform on stage, or prefer to help behind the scenes. Our members come from all over the Ripon and Harrogate district and all are welcome. The Society currently presents a musical every spring at Harrogate Theatre (usually in April), and a concert in the autumn in Ripon. The younger members of the Society now have their own group founded in 2010 as well as the opportunity to join the adults in the main shows. For more information check out our Ripon Youth Theatre page In 2016 RAOS will be performing South Pacific at Harrogate Theatre from 20th - 23rd April.
